Employee Profile: Stacey Roman, Senior Inside Sales Representative
For Stacey Roman, what started as a two-week co-op placement turned into a long and rewarding career in the equipment rental industry.
Stacey gained experience across many departments, including Parts, Accounts Payable, Billing, Junior Accounting, and Crane Division administration. Along the way, she discovered a passion for problem-solving, customer support, and helping teams work better together.
Today, as a Senior Inside Sales Representative, Stacey works closely with Bercon Rentals’ customers, Account Managers, Dispatch, Service and the Shop teams to help ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish. From coordinating deliveries to helping customers source the right equipment for specific job site requirements, her role is focused on communication, organization and customer support.
In the constantly changing aerial equipment rental industry, no two customer requests are alike. Different industries and project sites all come with unique requirements, timelines and challenges.
One of the biggest challenges in rentals, Stacey explains, is making sure every detail is accurate. Delivery instructions, gate access, shutdown schedules and site contacts all play an important role in ensuring equipment arrives on time and projects stay on track.
The Rentals team works closely with multiple Bercon departments to support clients. From coordinating with the shop to ensure equipment availability to working with Dispatch on delivery timelines, collaboration is key.
According to Stacey, what sets Bercon Rentals apart is the team’s commitment to customer service and their ability to respond quickly when challenges arise. Whether it’s a last-minute request or sourcing replacement equipment, the team works together to find solutions and keep projects moving forward.
One of the most demanding parts of the job is coordinating equipment during the peak season, where timelines are tight and customer needs can change quickly. Stacey regularly works with the service team to source machines, organize replacements and help customers complete projects without delays.
She says one of her proudest accomplishments has been helping train new team members who continue adding value to both customers and the company.
Although she did not originally plan for a career in aerial equipment rentals, the collaborative environment and family culture at Bercon made the industry rewarding.
Outside of work, Stacey enjoys being a sports mom, cheering on her kids in hockey, soccer and baseball. She also loves spending time with family and friends at the trailer, especially fishing and morning mini golf competitions with the Roman family.
Some of her favourite Bercon memories are simple moments spent with the team, summer BBQs, holiday parties and the friendships built over the years.
“At Bercon, many of the people are more than teammates – they’re friends.”
